August 24, 2004 -- the "seed" about SINO: PAG-ASA was planted; I am grateful and glad of its fruits with your active participation.
Specific to our alma mater -- Corcuera Academy/Corcuera Municipal High School/now, Corcuera National High School -- her history reveals that her 50th birthyear is not that far away -- (1960 - 2010)! This historic occasion, in my view, is Golden Foundation Anniversary: A Test In Progress!
A test in progress! I am confident no one among us, alumni, as student then wants to fail a test in class; hopefully, now, no one among us feels to fail our alma mater in us.
Our genuine cooperation is the subject of the test we have been facing; one way, among many ways, to achieve a passing mark is our positive response to our alumni directory campaign. Nothing much to study about it for its contents/required data are self-comprehensible by virtue of its nature. But its significance is timeless and beyond measure!
Principal Melchor M. Famorcan is just "e-technology" away, whatever way is convenient for you.
By the way, at a general assembly meeting in our alma mater during the 1993 alumni homecoming, one of the agenda given focus was our alumni association. After the said occasion and fifteen years later, I have not heard any information about what happened next. Wish to hear any development from the officers/leaders...

Every graduate knows the significance of an alumni directory, I believe. Our case is unique as it includes at the onset monetary consideration. This element is designed not only to generate funds in support of our alma mater’s mission and vision through the energetic leadership of Principal Melchor ‘Ontoy‘ M. Famorcan, but also as a gauge to alumni’s response to our One Million Peso Campaign based on the simple computation of 2,000 (we are now more than...) alumni @ PhP500.00 each. Let not this amount be a limitation for any graduate who feels good to give more than this. On the other hand, let it not be a hindrance to any graduate who has more doubts than trust, questions than answers at the moment concerning this amount , from submitting the completed alumni form (hard copy) to the Office of the Principal. Aside from generating funds, more benefits out of our alumni directory merit consideration:
1. It is a cause for looking back to our alma mater; a reminder that we are alumni of Corcuera Academy, now Corcuera National High School;
2. It is a way to trace the whereabouts of our alma mater’s alumni;
3. It is a reference for gathering data on the number of professionals our alma mater has produced in various fields since;
4. It is a bridge to facilitate communication -- our e-mail address being the vehicle that will transport messages from Simara to anywhere we are and vice versa. No other time is more timely than today, for internet access is now working in Simara;
5. It is an occasion to add color to our sense of altruism -- a continuous drop to a bucket can fill the bucket eventually-- it will be faster, collectively;
6. It is a positive reflection on education which can be measured, in part, by rallying response to this campaign;
7. It is a reservoir of manpower resource that when institutionalized can bring tremendous benefits for our alma mater and for Simara for that matter;
8. It is a contribution to improving Simaranhon ties regardless of distance-- social regeneration (hopefully); and,
more you can add ...?
Suggestions:
1. There are many alumni in Simara (homebase) to start this campaign among themselves, and rally support for our alumni directory -- leave no graduate behind, from the Municipal Mayor to everyone. This is interesting, not really challenging!
2. To undertake alumni directory campaign in Batangas, Metro Manila, and in other places. Mr. Famorcan has classmates and former students in different places now. It is challenging, but those you know can lead in the campaign. Encourage those without e-mail address to have one thru yahoo, Simara website, etc...until all alumni have one (changes should be communicated accordingly);
3. For abroad, I volunteer to coordinate with those who are and those may come here at the East Coast of the United States; you can ask alumni in other places to lead in the campaign, as in:
United States - West Coast, Texas, etc...
Canada - British Columbia, Montreal, Toronto, etc...
Europe (various places)
The Middle East ( various places )
Asia ( various places)
4. As we work our way among alumni from 1965 onward -- for the purpose of institutionalizing our alumni directory -- graduating students must be given orientation about and be asked to fill up Alumni Directory form one week before the rite, just for the portions on name and year of graduation; each graduate will be asked also to return the form to the school three (3) years later with the rest of the lines filled up, on the assumption that these alumni are either already graduates of vocational courses or working on college degrees/other aspects of life (this is interesting);
5. Let us (fellow alumni) share our genuine efforts into this. You know some alumni I do not know; those we know, know other alumni we do not know, and so on. The reaction must have chain effect and positively continuing so as to produce great impact and beneficial results;
6. As a whole, is this easy to do? Of course, not! Is it worth the effort? Of course, it is!
Let us do it to see results!
I am optimistic, a functional alumni directory will be an instrumental tool to pool goods and services necessary for the greater good of our alma mater, and of Simara for that matter. Simara’s future will soon rest in the hands of our secondary schools’ alumni. Hopefully, the alumni of Mabini NHS will do the same on their own.
------------
By the time our alma mater celebrates her 50th foundation anniversary in 2010, each of us can be proud of our collective efforts -- alumni directory -- as a golden gift!
The line of communication in Simara is in place. What a convenience! To keep in touch with Principal Melchor M. Famorcan, you can e-mail him at mmfam_01@yahoo.com;
call/text through cell phone #09195887141, or in person when and where circumstances allow.
Regards to all of you!

OPEN LETTER
TO FELLOW ALUMNI
Dear fellow alumni:
Greetings!
The letter of Principal Melchor M. Famorcan dated 01 February 2006 was a blessing! His promotion was good news; his mission and vision inspiring! His call for support deserved reiterating, “As a newly installed Principal, I feel the urgency of positively changing the lives and elevating the hope of our students by providing them a more conducive-to-learning institution. Accomplishing great things for Corcuera Academy/Corcuera NHS is but through a collaborative and concerted effort though how small these efforts would be. We can do it if we pool our resources together. We need your help. We sincerely ask for your support. And because you are our family, we are sure CNHS has a special place in your heart. Let’s work together in realizing our dreams for CNHS.”
Our alumni directory campaign, given due course, will be instrumental not only in the realization of the numerous projects outlined by our Principal but also as an avenue for other benefits for the greater good of our alma mater, and of Simara for that matter.
Library/Learning Center is one of the top ten priority projects emphasized by our energetic Principal. He suggested that proceeds of this campaign will be used primarily for this project. I suggested that an Alumni Corner be a part of this Library/Learning Center. Certainly, we all know the importance of a library; hopefully, our fellow alumni could still remember our high school library.
For the rest of the priority projects like computer units, sports and other types of equipment, perimeter fence of the school, and so forth, alumni can share either individually, as family of graduates, as a class, or through other means feasible.
Thousands of alumni, as we are, can definitely deliver positive output through positive thoughts, feelings and actions!
Our alma mater is historic! Let us be part of this historical campaign!
God bless,
MILA FAJICULAY-FRUELDA
